Frequently Asked Questions

Analysis of trace elements and heavy metals present in water, pharmaceuticals, food, environmental samples, and industrial materials.

ICP-OES and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS).

Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) works on the principle that atoms and ions can absorb energy to move electrons from the ground state to an excited state, and it relies on those excited atoms releasing light at specific wavelengths as they transition to a lower energy level.

ICP-OES can detect a wide range of elements found in the periodic table including commonly analyzed elements such as Arsenic (As), Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Chromium (Cr), Mercury (Hg), Iron (Fe), Calcium (Ca), and silicon (Si), precious elements (Au, Ag, Pt, Pd, Rh, Ir, Ru, Os), Rare earth elements,  trace metals, metalloids, and some non-metals.

Elemental detection limits generally reach parts-per-billion (ppb) levels.  It provides results with high precision and broad concentration range.

Pharmaceutical, food, environmental, mining, chemical, and manufacturing industries.

  • ● Pharmaceuticals & Food industries require elemental analysis to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements of contamination levels in products, raw materials and intermediates.
  • ● Mining industries require elemental analysis to identify and quantify levels of various elements in ores and processed metals.
  • ● Many other industrial sectors have regulations for controlling toxic metal contamination from manufacturing activities as well as product use.
  • ● All industries in general require elemental analysis for monitoring contamination in water, soil and air for heavy metals and trace elements regulated by authorities.
